AN ENVISION 2030 FACT SHEET

• More than 1,200 citizens participated in the fall 2006 visioning phase (15 meetings).
• More than 3,000 ideas or images were collected in the vision meetings.
• A 525-word vision statement, called the Common Vision, was drafted in December 2006, reflecting the broad themes of the fall meetings. Citizens offered suggestions for improving the Common Vision before it was formally adopted by the Envision 2030 Steering Committee in January 2007.
• Four Planning Groups were convened in late January 2007 to draft Action Steps to accomplish the Common Vision.
• Approximately 200 people participated in the Planning Groups, which were open to all citizens to join.
• All 3,000-plus ideas from the fall meetings were delivered to the Planning Groups, and every idea was read and considered.
• The Planning Groups drafted 45 Action Steps to accomplish the Common Vision, along with extensive detail and descriptions.
• The Envision 2030 Steering Committee met on May 24 to approve the Draft Report for distribution and comment. Based on public comment, the Report was revised and adopted by the Steering Committee on June 28. The Final Report was released on June 29.
